Bridge Year Program

Bridge Year Program
In June 2020, Governor Murphy signed a bill into law creating the “Bridge Year Pilot Program” for the classes of 2021 and 2022.  This allows last year's Juniors and Sophomores who missed out on Spring sports and extra curricular activities in 2020 a fifth year to participate.  Students would be able to participate in graduation ceremonies but would defer receiving their diplomas.

During this “Bridge Year” students would remain enrolled as a student at Overbrook High School.  The student may take semester courses in the Fall at Overbrook or 9-12 credits at Camden County College.  During the Spring semester, the student must enroll at Camden County College for 9-12 credits.  Students must maintain a grade point average of 2.0 to remain in the program.

To be eligible for the bridge year, students must be 19 years old or younger and can not turn 20 years old at the time of this extra year.  The “Bridge Year” does not guarantee the athlete a spot on the roster or guaranteed playing time.
